Increased security for 3 Allahabad HC judges

One of the judges is retired while two are sitting judges at Allahabad and Lucknow.

The security of three Allahabad High Court judges who delivered the judgment on title suits related to disputed premises of Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid at Ayodhya on September 30,2010,has been stepped up following the escape of the six suspected SIMI operatives from Khandwa jail in Madhya Pradesh Monday.

One of the judges is retired while two are sitting judges at Allahabad and Lucknow.

Three among the escaped SIMI men Shaikh Mujeeb of Surat in Gujarat,Aslam of Khandwa and Abu Faizal of Mumbai had confessed after their arrest in June last year that they had planned attack on the three judges and had recced Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.

ADG Security OP Singh said the government had directed him to review the security arrangement of the three judges. He said the judges had already been provided Z category security,but it is being enhanced following the threat perception. He added that he has sent letters to SSPs of Lucknow,Allahabad and Noida asking them to assess the threat and send a report.
