An activist of the India Against Corruption IAC group disrupted a press conference being addressed by Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia here on Tuesday to explain the UPAs side of the coal block allocation issue.

After defending the government, when Scindia invited questions from the media, the activist later identified as Archana Sharma carrying the national flag, rose to ask the minister why cartoonist Aseem Trivedi was facing sedition charges.

Local Congress leaders took offence to an outsider using the media platform and asked Sharma to leave the hall. When Sharma refused, some Congress workers forced her out. The activist along with a few others then started shouting slogans, disrupting the press meet.

Scindia later spoke to Sharma and apologised for behaviour of his partymen . I have no problem seeking apology for what happened. If that makes her and media happy,I apologise, he said.

While Bihar Congress chief Choudhary Mehboob Ali Qaisar alleged that it was the handiwork of RSS and BJP,IACs state in-charge Ratnesh Choudhary told The Indian Express : Though Archana has been a volunteer with us,IAC had not asked her to go to Scindias press conference. This is the fourth time she went to a function without our permission. Such things bring disrepute to IAC. But what Congress workers did could not be justified.
