The country8217;s second-largest car-maker Hyundai Motor India today reported a 15.20 per cent jump in total sales to 49,901 units in January.
The company sold 43,316 units in the year-ago period.
In the domestic market,the company8217;s sales increased by 11.86 per cent to 33,900 units from 30,306 units in the same month last year,Hyundai Motor India Ltd HMIL said in a statement.
Exports of the company went up by 22.99 per cent to 16,001 units during the month under review from 13,010 units in the year-ago period,the statement said.
8220;The year seems to have started on a positive note,domestic sales are showing some buoyancy. But we will have to cautiously watch how this momentum picks up in the months ahead,8221; HMIL Director Marketing and Sales Arvind Saxena said.
In the A2 segment Eon,Santro,i10 and i20,the company sold 44,960 units,while in the A3 segment Accent and Verna,sales stood at 4,797 units.
The A5 segment Sonata Transform of HMIL did not attract any buyer,while its new Santa Fe SUV attracted 144 buyers during the month.
