The police investigating the murder of model-actress Bidushi Dash, who was found dead in her apartment on Monday, are looking at her husband,Kedar Barde,as the prime suspect.

The police have taken samples from Kedars nails and sent them for forensic analysis, sources said. However,it is not yet clear whether the scratch marks on her neck and face were from someones nails or the glass shards found nearby.

The police are ascertaining the time when Kedar reached his office and logged in at his workstation. We have asked Kedars employer to provide us the time he swiped his I-card, said a police officer.

Kedar had told the police that he left home for work at 8 am and called Bidushi an hour later but she did not respond. They said Kedar made three calls the entire day and did not bother to alert the couples landlord to check on her. While Bidushi and Kedar lived on the ground floor, their landlord stayed on the floor above.

The police said Kedar had not asked neighbours to check on his wife when she did not answer his calls despite knowing that she was diabetic and had psychological problems.

Officers said at 10 am on Monday,Kedar called up his father to tell him that Bidushi was not answering her phone. At 7 pm,he called Bidushis father Shantanu Dash and told him that Bidushi was not answering her phone. Bidushis father told us that in the past three years,Kedar never called him up, said the officer.

The police said Kedar and Bidushi often fought over her medical problems. Bidushi was diabetic since she was 16,and was being treated for psychiatric problems. She had undergone an eyelid surgery and hair transplant after a head injury years ago. The couple had a fight just a day before the murder, added the officer.

Officers said Bidushi had three visitors on the day of her murder.
