Hunt begins for Mohsin, missing IM recruiter

Mohsin Chaudhary, who has been on the radar as one of the main recruiters of the IM for the Pune unit, has emerged as a key suspect in Saturdays blast.

The only Indian Mujahideen member of the Pune module still missing,Mohsin Chaudhary, has emerged as a key suspect in Saturdays blast.

Mohsins brother Mohd Akbar Ismail Choudhary,a resident of Pune, was arrested in 2008 along with 15 other IM accused. Ismail is a suspect in the 2007 Hyderabad blasts.

Mohsin,35,has been on the radar as one of the main recruiters of the IM for the Pune unit, and the only one still missing. He disappeared after the Pune media module of the IM was busted in June, but police believe he has not left the country. This attack looks like the work of a new set of recruits with Mohsin as the common link, said a senior official.

A senior officer said Mohsin was close to Iqbal Bhatkal, brother of Riyaz. His name is also linked to IM co-founder Mohd Israr Sadiq Ahmed Sheikh.
