House Session extended

The session, originally scheduled to conclude on August 30,was earlier extended till September 6.

The government has extended the Monsoon Session by a day till Saturday to ensure the passage of important bills.

The session, originally scheduled to conclude on August 30,was earlier extended till September 6.

Now,both Houses will sit on September 7 as well.

The decision, sources said, was taken as the government was keen on getting three more working days, but the BJP insisted that the session be wrapped up this week itself.

The government has lined up The Security Laws Amendment Bill, seeking to amend the Securities Exchange Board of India Act,for consideration and passage by the Lok Sabha on Friday. The Bill will replace an ordinance promulgated by the President on July 18.
