Hitman link to CMO murders: cops

Tiwari also told police that one of the pistols recovered from his possession was used in the murder of Dr Arya.

Anand Tiwari,the alleged contract killer in the murder case of CMO Dr B P Singh,has reportedly confessed his involvement in the killing of Dr Singhs predecessor Dr Vinod Arya also.

As per the interrogation report available with Lucknow police and the Special Task Force STF,Tiwari played an active role both in the conspiracy and execution of Dr Aryas murder.

Tiwari has also told the police that one of the pistols recovered from his possession was used in the murder of Dr Arya.

The police have entered Tiwaris fresh confession in the case diaries of both the murder cases. The police,however,are waiting for the ballistic report of the shells recovered from Dr Aryas murder spot to be matched with one of the pistols seized from Tiwari before including his name as another accused in the Dr Arya murder case.

Tiwari,who was arrested along with two associates on June 17 and taken into police remand on June 26,had admitted his links with Sudhakar Pandey one of the alleged main shooters in Dr Aryas murder. Pandey is on the run and the state government has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head.

Lucknow DIG D K Thakur said Tiwari had been involved in Dr Aryas murder,too,and they have been verifying details collected from him. The ballistic examination of the two pistols of .32 bore recovered from Tiwari have already been matched with the empty shells collected from the spot of Dr Singhs murder. One pistol was seized when Tiwari was arrested while the other was found in his house on June 26,he said. The ballistic report received on Friday confirmed that five bullets were fired from one of the pistols and three from the other.

Dr Arya was shot dead near his house in Vikas Nagar,Lucknow,on October 27 last year while Dr Singh was killed on April 2 this year.

The police had named jailed gangsters Abhay Singh,Sumit alias Anshu Dixit and his brother Amit for hatching the conspiracy for Dr Aryas murder and engaging Pandey,Ajay Kumar Mishra and Vijay Dubey for executing the murder. Ajay and Vijay were arrested on December 12 while Pandey is on the run.

In the Dr Singh case,the STF arrested Tiwari,Ram Krishna Verma and Vinod Sharma on June 17 and claimed that deputy CMO Dr Y S Sachan had got his immediate senior killed. Sachan was found dead inside Lucknow district jail on June 22.
