After news broke about M K Narayanans possible exit as the NSA,he was inundated with questions and comments at the Army Day reception that was attended by political leaders,bureaucrats and other dignitaries. Perhaps the most embarrassing moment was when he entered the house and Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar walked up to him and said,Sir,when can we now call you Your Excellency?
