HC seeks records from MHA on Vectra

The court further underlined that since immense financial loss is incurred by the company with each passing day,no adjournment shall be granted on Tuesday and it would wish to pass an interim order after hearing the parties.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday requisitioned the records from the Ministry of Home Affairs on the basis of which it had ordered withdrawal of security clearance to Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd the aviation subsidiary of Vectra Group whose chairman Ravi Rishi is under CBI investigation over Tatra trucks deal.

Issuing notices to the ministry and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation DGCA,Justice Vipin Sanghi asked the counsel to produce before the court on May 15 the relevant files pertaining to the Vectra Group to exhibit the decision-making process and rationale0 behind revoking the security clearance.

The court further underlined that since immense financial loss is incurred by the company with each passing day,no adjournment shall be granted on Tuesday and it would wish to pass an interim order after hearing the parties.

Justice Sanghi also asked senior advocate N K Kaul, who appeared for the company,to bring to the court the details of share-holding pattern in the Vectra Group so as to ascertain the percentage of shares Rishi and his family members held in the company.

This is a matter which requires notice. And since the state is involved,we will issue a short notice. We will however not pass any order without hearing all the parties since it involves questions of public security, said the judge.

During the hearing, senior advocate Kaul claimed that the company, like a bolt from the blue, received a letter from the DGCA,suspending their permit in view of the security clearance withdrawn by the home ministry.
