Harassed by colleagues,Dalit clerk kills self

A Dalit employee of the Udyog Bhavan in Gandhinagar allegedly committed suicide in his office toilet after he was allegedly humiliated by his senior and harassed by his colleagues for the last few months.

The victim,Naresh Ganpat Chavda,was a clerk in industries commissionarate at Udyog Bhavan. The Gandhinagar police said the incident happened late Monday when Naresh was allegedly snubbed by his boss,Pathak,who is a General Manager.

Naresh consumed a bottle of pesticide and was found lying on the floor near the toilet. His family rushed him to the Gandhinagar civil hospital. However,he was declared brought dead by the hospital. The family found the suicide note from his office belongings late on Monday night.
