The article on single theatres Magic of the marquee in Screen dated April 1 – 7 made for an interesting read. It brought back memories of standing in long queues to watch a film of your favourite star.
The minute exams were over,it was time to head to the theatres. Never mind the heat or lack of air-conditioning,the only thing we were concerned about was getting the balcony tickets for which we would go an hour early so that we are the first at the ticket window.
Today one doesnt need to be in line for a ticket at the multiplex, all the same the charm of watching a film in a single theatre has all but gone.
