Get monsoon right: PM

Indias inability to predict the monsoon correctly has even got Prime Minister Manmohan Singh worried. At the meeting of the climate change council last week,Singh wondered aloud whether it was beyond our capability to come up with accurate forecasts. As some of them proceeded to explain the intricacies of weather forecasting,the Prime Minister is learnt to have remarked that it was absolutely essential that India developed expertise in predicting monsoon. He is said to have offered the full support of the government in this regard.
