Function with Raja Bhaiyya as chief guest denied nod

Five days after his resignation as minister,Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya received another jolt when the Varanasi district administration refused to give permission for the investiture ceremony of the students union of Uday Pratap College,scheduled for Saturday,where he was to be chief guest.

The event was scheduled when Raja Bhaiyya was Minister for Food and Civil supplies in the government. He resigned last Monday after being named an accused in the murder of DSP Zia-ul-Haque in his constituency,Kunda. Varanasi DM Pranjal Yadav said permission for the event was withheld on the suggestion of the college principal. He had requested me that under prevailing circumstances,it is not sensible to invite Raja Bhaiyya as chief guest, Yadav said.
