Four more Indians were charged Thursday for alleged rioting in Singapore.

Singapore: Four more Indians were charged Thursday for alleged rioting in Singapore,taking the total number of those arraigned in the violence to 31,as Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong warned that trouble-makers will be dealt with severely. Four Indians were charged in court in connection with Singapores worst outbreak of violence in over 40 years,triggered by the death of an Indian in a road accident in Little India. Sellamuthu Elangovan,45,Ammasi Venkatesan,27,Selarasu Dhanapal,25,were accused of throwing pieces of hardened concrete at police officers in response to the melee along Race Course Road,Straits Times reported. The fourth man,Arumugam Karthik,was said to have been a member of an unlawful assembly. PTI

Thailand protesters cut off electricity to Prime Ministers offices

BANGKOK: Protesters announced they cut off electricity to the prime ministers office compound Thursday and demanded that police abandon the premises,piling fresh pressure on the government amid a political crisis that has dragged on for weeks. The protesters,seeking to force the replacement of caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatras government before a February 2 election,have threatened to force their way in if police dont leave. Police attempts to negotiate were rebuffed,but they did not withdraw immediately. An AP photographer inside one of the buildings said electricity had been shut off to the press office. Police confirmed that power had been cut to some buildings in the Government House. AP

6-year-old US boy suspended for kissing classmate

Denver: The suspension of a 6-year-old boy for kissing the hand of a girl at school is raising questions about whether the peck should be considered sexual harassment. The boys mother said officials at Lincoln School of Science and Technology in Canon City,a Colorado city of 16,000,are over-reacting. Jennifer Saunders said her son was suspended once before for kissing the girl and had other disciplinary problems,and she was surprised to find out that he would be forced out of school again for several days. First-grader Hunter Yelton told KRDO-TV that he has a crush on a girl at school and she likes him back. AP
