88 cops move High Court to quash transfer order

ALLAHABAD: Eighty-eight policemen from four police stations of Pratapgarh district on Monday approached the Allahabad High Court seeking quashing of their transfer order issued on April 3.

A total of 111 policemen, including the petitioners, had been transferred by the state following a request from the CBI in which it was said that local policemen were not cooperating in the investigation of Kunda triple murder case.

Alleging the transfers were manipulated by former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, one of the accused, the petitioners have arrayed him as one of the respondents in the petition. They have submitted a list of policemen, who they say were not transferred because of alleged proximity with Raja Bhaiyya.
