The death toll of the August 23 fire at a Hindustan Petroleum refinery in Vishakapatnam rose to 23 on Sunday,with four more succumbing to their injuries.
Three workers succumbed to burn injuries at a hospital in the city,while the fourth died at a Mumbai hospital,Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd HPCL sources said.
The victims were identified as K Tata Rao 60,M V Ramana 45,Sambhu Manna 55 and Subhash Majhi 25,the sources said.
They said that of the 23 persons killed in the fire,only one was an employee of HPCL. All the other victims were private workers engaged by contract companies.
Thirteen workers are still receiving treatment for brun injuries in the city while eight have been flown to Mumbai for treatment where they are doing well.
