Encounter on in Kupwara,two SOG men dead

The Army has launched an operation along with the Jamp;K Police. Confirming the encounter,Lt General S A Hasnain,Corps Commander,15 Corps,told The Indian Express: Six to eight militants are holed up in a stony area away from villages.

The Jamp;K Police in a statement said: The Kupwara Police and 18 Grenadiers of the Army launched a cordon and search operation in the forest area of Awath Khul8230; The search party came under heavy firing from the militants,which was retaliated. The encounter was going on when the reports last came.
