Cremation tomorrow
The last rites of Bhupen Hazarika,who died in Mumbai on Saturday,will be performed on the bank of the Brahmaputra in the Assam capital on Tuesday. Official sources here said his body would be flown in here on Monday morning,after which it would be taken to his home at Nizarapar in the heart of the city,and then kept at the Judges Field for two days for people to pay their homage. The cremation will take place in the Sankaradeva Udyan on the river-bank close to Bharalumukh where he had spent several years of his childhood, an official in the Kamrup Metro administration said on Sunday.
