Eight policemen charged in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case have objected to fellow accused Narendra Amins application to turn approver. They have said they should be heard before any such decision is taken.

The policemen who have objected are D G Vanzara,Rajkumar Pandian,M L Parmar,N V Chauhan,Himanshu Singh,Shyam Singh,B R Chaube and Dinesh M N. Their lawyer said the eight would file an affidavit listing their objections to Amins move at the next hearing of the case.

Amins application to turn approver, saying he wanted to reveal crucial facts related to the case, was scheduled for hearing on Tuesday. However, due to the death of a close relative of his lawyer,it has now been adjourned for hearing on August 3. Amins other appeal, that he be shifted from Sabarmati Jail as he faced a threat to his life in the prison, has been turned down. Sabarmati Jail authorities have been told to tighten security around him.
