Chidambaram sets out reorganising FIPB

Finance Minister P Chidambaram is on a drive to cleanse the Foreign Investment Promotion Board FIPB. On Monday,he divested ministrys Joint Secretary Rajesh Khullar of FIPB charge and posted Prabodh Saxena as JS Infrastructure and Investment. The same day,he wrote a demi-official letter for appointing Vijay Singh Chauhan,Director FIPB,to be shifted to his office.

The move takes care of a complete make-over of the finance ministry representation in the FIPB with the Secretary Economic Affairs a new person appointed on August 1.

Thats not all though as Chidambaram has asked all officers from deputy secretary/director level upwards to Secretary level to remain in Delhi until August 8.

No reason was given but sources said that the ministry is in for an upheaval.
