MEDIA COMES UP SMELLING OF ROSES
Unlike others who lampoon the media in order to dodge questions,Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal did so by praising them. When Goyal was caught by journalists after a meeting with the aviation secretary,he started complimenting them that we have an excellent media for reasons known only to him. Journalists got compliments but not what they were desperately looking for news on the meeting and the Jet-Etihad deal.

Can there be a correlation between mating of elephants and bilateral trade relations? Well,a senior government official certainly thinks so. So during the India-Africa conclave that concluded early this week,the official while addressing the delegates started by comparing Indo-Africa relationship like that of noisy mating of elephants. Adding to the surprise,he added that the result in form of a baby elephant is now awaited! The import of the reference was however lost on the audience that kept guessing the message the official wanted to convey.
