Kenyan cops kill three suspects in al Shabaab raid

MOMBASA: Police shot dead three suspected supporters of the Somali militant group al Shabaab on Wednesday during a raid in Kenyas turbulent coastal region,in which a police officer also died. Police also arrested a number of suspects and confiscated grenades,AK-47 assault rifles and ammunition at a house in the Likoni area,Coast province police chief Aggrey Adoli said.

Scotland Yard bans tattoos on officers

London: Scotland Yard has banned recruits from having visible tattoos after complaints from victims that some young officers appeared thuggish. Scotland Yard Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe said body art that can be seen by the public damages the professional image of the service. He also ordered a tattoo amnesty in which anyone who already has tattoos must declare them or be sacked,Daily Mail reported.

Daily multi-vitamin may reduce cancer risk: Study

NEW YORK: Researchers announced Wednesday that a large clinical trial of nearly 15,000 older male physicians followed for more than a decade found that those taking a daily multi-vitamin experienced 8 percent fewer cancers than the subjects taking dummy pills. The paper was published online in The Journal of the American Medical Association.

London: British police,which had used a Taser gun on a blind man whose white stick they mistook for a samurai sword,Wednesday regretted the incident saying it had clearly put the man through a traumatic experience.
