India-Egypt naval exercise today

NEW DELHI: The Indian Navy will carry out a joint exercise with its Egyptian counterpart as part of a military engagement off the coast of Alexandria on Wednesday. A contingent of four Indian warships is presently berthed at Alexandria in the first such visit to Egypt since the regime change there.

Vigilance dept raids Ex-Assembly official

CHENNAI: Officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption DVAC conducted raids at the residences of former Legislative Assembly secretary M Selvaraj and three of his associates on Tuesday. There were allegations that the officials had committed malpractices when Selvaraj held office between August 2007 and March 2011.

Shatrughan Sinha stable: doctors

MUMBAI: Actor and former minister Shatrughan Sinha,who was admitted to a hospital following a respiratory disorder,is stable and recuperating,doctors said on Tuesday. Sinha was rushed to the Kokilaben hospital after he complained of breathlessness reportedly due to some paint work going on at his residence.

Mughal Road Rally: Navigator dies

SRINAGAR: The death toll in the car crash during the Mughal Road Rally rose to two on Tuesday as Ashish Mahajan the navigator of the vehicle succumbed to injuries at a hospital here. Mahajan suffered serious internal injuries in the crash and died on Tuesday morning,a Disaster Management Cell official said.
