Curfew imposed after clashes in Andhra district HYDERABAD: A curfew was imposed in Sangareddy town of Medak district following clashes between two groups late Thursday night. The clashes occurred when one group,incensed over a photograph of a religious place allegedly posted on a social networking site,were protesting near Old Bus Stand area and attacked another group. Schoolboy run over,locals block road JALPAIGURI: A schoolboy was run over by a bus in the Odlabari area of Jalpaiguri district on Friday,sparking protests by locals who blocked the key road,police said. Anup Oraon,a Class VII student,was going home from school when he was knocked down near the rail bridge by the bus coming from Malbazar. He died on the spot. Four Maoists arrested in Orissa ROURKELA: Four Maoists from Jharkhand were arrested and a landmine and wires seized in Orissas Sundargarh district,police said on Friday. The Maoists were arrested from the Kaliaposh area under Bisra police station bordering Saranda forests,about 40 km from here on Thursday night. Peepli village goes without power as film unit fails to pay bill BHOPAL: Power supply to Badwai village in Raisen district,where Aamir Khan's Peepli Live was shot,has been discontinued due to non-payment of dues of over Rs 3.5 lakh by the film unit. The village has been without electricity for the past fortnight. The matter was raised on Friday in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly during the Zero Hour by Arif Aqueel of the Congress. Aqeel alleged that villagers were forced to live without electricity as the film unit had failed to pay the power dues. The film unit allegedly owes Rs 3.5 lakh to the state utility.
