Ishrat case: SIT chief shifted
AHMEDABAD: Even as the Special Investigation Team probing the Ishrat Jahan encounter case is scheduled to submit its investigation report by the first week of April,IPS officer Karnail Singh,who heads the team,has been transferred to Mizoram. Joint Commissioner of Police (Delhi) Karnail Singh has been transferred to Mizoram as the Inspector General of Police (IGP). The Gujarat High Court had appointed Singh as chief of the SIT team.
Ministers son shoots student
Imphal: Irom Roger,21,was shot dead allegedly by the son of a minister,prompting a local committee to demand his immediate resignation. Roger,who studied in Bangalore,was allegedly shot dead by N Ajai Meitei (27),son of Manipur Minister for Irrigation,Flood Control and Sports N Biren,on Sunday evening at Kwakeithel area in Imphal West district. Meitei later surrendered to police with his pistol.
13 Dalits injured in clash,houses burnt
Pratapgarh: Thirteen people were injured when 15 houses of Dalits were set on fire during a group clash in Hathigawan area,officials said here on Monday. The incident took place on Sunday night when residents of Shitlaka purwa and Kadampur villages clashed over a trivial issue.
