Finance Ministry opposes sops to BSNL

New delhi: The finance ministry has opposed subsidy of over Rs 5,800 crore to BSNL for providing telecom services in naxal-affected areas,saying that the operator was not selected through a tender process and the demand was several times the current incentives.

RIL to sign supply pacts NTPC

New delhi: Reliance Industries has agreed to sign agreements with Pragati Power Corp and NTPC for supply of natural gas from its KG-D6 fields. With output from KG-D6 continuing to decline,RIL was against signing new Gas Sale and Purchase Agreements.

Rangarajan for hike in diesel,LPG prices

New delhi: PMEAC chairman C Rangarajan said an immediate hike in prices of diesel and LPG was necessary. It should be done as early as possible. We need to take action howsoever unpleasant it may be, he said in an interview to CNN-IBN.
