ONGC Videsh inks pact with Uzbek firm

New Delhi: ONGC Videsh Ltd,the overseas arm of state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp,on Wednesday said it has signed an agreement for cooperation with Uzbekistans Uzbekneftegaz. OVL yesterday entered in to a MoU with Uzbekneftegaz UNG,the national oil company of Uzbekistan for joint cooperation in the upstream Eamp;P sector of Uzbekistan as well as third countries, the company said in a press statement.

New SEZ proposals: BoA to meet on May 31

New Delhi: The Board of Approval headed by commerce secretary Rahul Khullar will take up requests for setting up new special economic zones SEZs on May 31. The Board of Approval BoA will also take up other issues related to the tax-free enclaves,the commerce ministry said.

BECIL ties up to train with UK firm

New Delhi: Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd BECIL,a PSU under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,has entered into a training partnership with the UK-based Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers to prepare better for the impending migration of the cable TV feed from analog to digital,the PSU said in a press release on Wednesday.

Swedens Scania to set up plant in Bangalore

New Delhi: Swedish truck maker Scania on Wednesday said it will expand its operations in India and plans to set up an assembly plant in Bangalore,besides looking to introduce heavy haulage trucks and luxury buses. The company,which has been selling mining trucks in the country in partnership with Lamp;T since 2007-08,has formed an Indian,arm Scania Commercial Vehicles India Pvt Ltd.

25 paise coins to be demonetised: RBI

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday asked the public to exchange 25 paise coins and those with lower denominations with banks before June 30,the day from which they would be demonetised or cease to be a legal tender for payment. Coins of denomination of 25 paise and below will cease to be legal tender from June 30,2011. These will not be accepted for exchange at bank branches from July 1,2011 onwards, the RBI said.
