In line with good governance practices,we are segregating the roles of the chairman of the board and the companys CEO and MD.

Sridharan gets charge of chairman of SBI

mumbai: The government has given additional charge of Chairman of State Bank of India SBI to incumbent Managing Director R Sridharan,following O P Bhatts retirement from the chairmans position yesterday. Sridharan will hold additional charge till the government notifies a regular Chairman in SBI or until further orders,whichever is earlier,the

SBI said.

Nair gets extension as Union Bank CMD

mumbai: State-owned Union Bank of India said the government approved re-appointment of its Chairman and Managing Director M V Nair for a period of three months. The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet of Government of India has approved re-appointment of Chairman and Managing Director M V Nair,for an initial tenure of three months wef April 1,2011,or until further orders,whichever is earlier, UBI informed the BSE.

NSE offers fee waivers in IRF,debt market

mumbai: In a bid to attract investors towards non-equity market segments,the NSE has announced several fee waivers for trading in segments like interest rate futures,mutual funds and wholesale debt market. NSE said that it was waiving off transaction charges for trade in interest rate futures,buy or sale of mutual fund schemes through the exchange platform,as also trade in wholesale debt market during the current fiscal. It also waived off the transaction charges for the current fiscal for trade in its Hang Seng Benchmark Exchange Traded Scheme.

Oil cos hike ATF prices by 1.4 per cent

new delhi: State-owned oil firms today hiked jet fuel prices by 1.4 per cent,the 12th increase in rates in a row since October last year. The price of Aviation Turbine Fuel ATF in the national capital was increased by Rs 846.87 per kilolitre,or 1.45 per cent,to Rs 59,157.32 per kl,an official of Indian Oil Corp,said.
