A flight to Lucknow was halted minutes before takeoff from Mumbai on Thursday afternoon, after a call that a bomb could be on board. The passengers were evacuated and the Kingfisher flight,IT 3149,was checked before being sent on its way at 10.19 pm,with the passengers but without its cargo.
The caller, who identified himself as Shoaib, told the control room at CISF office that he had heard two people at the Masjid railway station talking about placing explosives in the cargo hold of the flight. We found the call had been made from a public phone booth in Nerul in Navi Mumbai. We had the plane checked, said J S Negi,CISF senior commandant at the airport.
