As already announced, the BJP would move a motion of breach of privilege against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday for misleading Parliament on the cash-for-vote episode. Not in a mood to let the government off the hook, the party would also demand a discussion on the matter.
The main opposition party had threatened to move a privilege motion against the Prime Minister last week, arguing that his assertion on the floor of the House that a Parliamentary committee which went into the 2008 cash-for-vote issue had concluded that there was insufficient evidence to draw any conclusion of bribery was completely at variance with truth.
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj is likely to move the Privilege Motion.
BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said multiple notices would be given by BJP leaders and JDU chief Sharad Yadav demanding a discussion under rule 193.
