Slamming Rahul Gandhis address to the industry Thursday, the BJP inferred that it was Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi whom the Congress vice-president referred to when he cautioned against the euphoria towards one man riding a horse to solve the countrys problems.

It was confusion confounded. It was a lacklustre speech without any direction or clarity. And Modiphobia was clearly visible, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said of Rahuls speech.

His reference to someone riding a horse to solve all the problems indicated his phobia, was Javadekars response to queries as to what made the BJP think Rahul was referring to Modi. We are amply clear it is the Congress that has this kind of perception, he added.

Asked whether Rahul had presented an alternative to Modis governance model, the BJP spokesman said he saw no model emerging out of his speech. We could not see any model. We saw only confusion. A confused leader presented his confused ideology which nobody could understand. Instead of answering questions,he was asking questions. It is a tacit admission that nothing has been done, he said.

Javadekar claimed that the Congress leaders speech was a reflection of the deep crisis within the ruling party. He also took a dig at Rahul for his talk about empowering panchayat chiefs. It exemplifies deep crisis within the Congress,in its ideologies, programmes, governance. Rahul talks about the empowerment of gram pradhan but actually what the Congress has done in the last nine years is that they have disempowered the Prime Minister8230; When Digvijaya Singh sought to suggest that one power centre was better system implying that Rahul could be the Prime Minister,Janardan Dwivedi came out after nine days to clarify against it because they know they are not getting back to power. This is an attempt by Dwivedi to save Rahul from defeat, he said.
