BJD MPs want Tytlers role probed

BJD MPs have written to the Director,CBI,demanding a full and earnest probe into the links of former Union minister and Congress leader Jagdish Tytler with arms dealer Abhishek Verma.

The letter pointed out that Verma has claimed that he met Tytler regularly in connection with the stalling of the blacklisting of Swiss defence firm Rheinmetall Air Defence AG RAG. It is pertinent to note that Tytler has claimed that his meetings with Verma took place because of his old association. The MPs said since Verma had been booked for taking 5.30 lakh from the Swiss firm to stall blacklisting proceedings and Tytler had been connected with Verma for quite a long time,its necessary to conduct a proper investigation against Tytler to probe into his involvement in this sordid affair. As Verma and his wife Ancea Neascu have been booked by the CBI,Tytler should also have been apprehended as their accomplice, they said.

BJD leaders Arjun Charan Sethi Lok Sabha and Sashi Bhusan Behera Rajya Sabha top the list of MPs who have signed the letter.
