Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said steps have been taken to hand over the management of the state8217;s public distribution system to Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies PACS which would help in preventing irregularities.
8220;Since all works of villages and farmers will be under the purview of PACS for implementation and surveillance,it will be better to give them the additional responsibility to avoid irregularities,8221; Kumar said.
The chief minister was attending the inauguration of All India Cooperative Week.
8220;We have initiated steps in this regard,8221; he added.
Reiterating his stand for holding elections to the Sakisha Samiti,the chief minister said the state election authority would be doing the needful in this regard.
