Baba Sehgal recorded a high-energy Punjabi wedding song Ishq khumari for Deepa Sahi’s Tere Mere Phere.

Baba Sehgal recorded a high-energy Punjabi wedding song Ishq khumari for Deepa Sahi’s directorial debut Tere Mere Phere.

Director Deepa Sahi explains,“This song is important because it comes when the lead pair meet for the first time. It is all about getting completely bowled over by love.” Produced by Ketan Mehta and Anup Jalota,the film has music by Shibani Kashyap.

Hindustani music recital held
In collaboration with International Foundation for Fine Arts,Kala Vilas,a group of five musicians,weaved the magic of love and peace through a bouquet of melodies,covering a wide spectrum of genres from classical,devotional,folk and light music in Mumbai’s National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) on March 2. The presentation included chants,prayers,bhajan,qawwali,folk songs and other compositions underlining the message of harmony. The group comprises of Ram Krishna Das (vocal),Rafat Khan Niyazi (sitar),Shailesh Bhagwat (shehnai),Sandeep Mishra (sarangi) and Anutosh Degharia (tabla).
