Axis Bank plans to open branch in London

Axis Bank has sought approval from Bank of England to open a branch in London.

Axis Bank has sought approval from Bank of England to open a branch in London,executive director of the bank S K Chakrabarti said.

He said the Reserve Bank of India has already given its nod to open a branch in London.

The bank has presence in Singapore,Hong Kong and Dubai and plans to expand its international presence further. It will also open its branch in Abu Dhabi,he said.

Talking to PTI after inauguration of its first premium banking branch in Gujarat at Vadodara today,he said “this branch will showcase the bank’s premium offerings under one room and offer a differentiated experience for the premium customers of the bank.”

Uday Bhat,Vice President-circle head- Gujarat said the bank intends to open 15 to 20 branches in Saurashtra region and provide banking facilities to the villages having population of 2,000 in Gujarat as per the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India.

“We are also concentrating on golden corridor between Vapi and Ahmedabad for expanding our bank network,” stated Bhat.
