German luxury car-maker Audi reported an over three-fold jump in sales in India during March to 681 units.
The company had sold 220 units in the same month last year,Audi India said in a statement.
In the first three months of this year,Audi sold 1,611 cars,up 107 per cent compared to the January-March period of 2010,at 778 cars.
8220;Having already exceeded half of last year8217;s sales in a single quarter,we are confident of being well on our way to ensure that 2011 is the most successful year for Audi India,8221; Audi India Head Michael Perschke said.
The company has an aggressive product expansion strategy for the country this year.
8220;Some of the drivers for this year would be the dynamic Audi A7 and the sporty Audi A6,which will take Audi to the next level in the limousine segment,8221; he said.
Currently,Audi sells sedans A4,A6,A8 and SUVs Q5 and Q7,along with the Audi TT and super sports car Audi R8.
