Attack on jawan: No clear lead for J038;K cops

The Jamp;K police have so far picked up at least six persons for questioning in connection with the attack on the Army jawan Rakesh Dutt. He was found unconscious with his eyes gouged out from a nullah near Akhnoor on Jammu-Poonch NH on Wednesday.

He was first admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital and later shifted to the Armys Command Hospital in Udhampur. A senior police officer said Rakesh has been giving contradictory stories and taking different names each time. He still appears to be in a state of hallucination. But we have picked up all those whose names were taken by him, the official said. Sources said one of them was an elected sarpanch.
