Angry over report,Sena workers attack TOI building

Shiv Sena workers and supporters of the partys MP from Amravati,Anandrao Adsul,attacked the headquarters of The Times of India newspaper in South Mumbai following a report in the groups Marathi newspaper Maharashtra Times on Saturday,which said Adsul was defecting to the Nationalist Congress Party NCP.

The report appeared along with another report from Sangli which quoted NCP state president Madhukar Pichad as saying that after Sena MP Anand Paranjpe virtually switched sides,another Sena MP and president of a party was going to join them.

Angry supporters of the Adsul,especially those affiliated to the co-operative bank employees union,entered the ground floor of Times of India building,broke the metal detector,furniture and computer in the reception area.

Azad Maidan Police arrested 16 persons in connection with the attack.
