Comrades in Delhi find themselves well and truly shut out. With the CPIM tally in the Lok Sabha down to 16 from 43,the party is facing a dire shortage of houses. The party had housed most of the offices of its frontal organisations and accommodated its Delhi-based full-timers,including Politburo members,in the 80-odd official houses and 12 bungalows of MPs. Since the party will get only four bungalows and around 30 flats this time, many full-timers have been asked to find houses for themselves. Besides,it is moving 15-odd offices to one or two bungalows. Those who can8217;t afford to pay the rents have been advised to return to their respective states.
