Ambuja Cements today said it sold 2.17 million tonnes of cement in March this year,up 12.43 per cent over the same month last year. The company had sold 1.93 million tonnes in the same month last year,it said in a statement. Production of the company during March was 2.19 million tonnes against 1.95 million tonnes a year ago. Both sales and production of Ambuja Cements' during the January-March period of the current year stood at 6.09 million tonnes. The corresponding figures in March 2011 were 5.55 million tonnes and 5.59 million tonnes,respectively.
