Almond futures down on increased selling

Almond prices fell by Rs 10 or 2.98 per cent at Rs 325.75 per kg in futures trade today on increased selling by traders. Fall in demand in the spot market,against increased arrivals,which put pressure on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX),almond for April contract remained under pressure and lost Rs 10 or 2.98 per cent at Rs 325.75 per kg,with a trading volume of seven lots.

It had lost Rs 10.50 or 2.93 per cent in yesterday’s trading. Similarly,almond for delivery in June contract declined by Rs five or 1.41 per cent to Rs 348 per kg in 2 lots.

Marketmen said,increased selling by speculators against fall in demand in spot markets mainly led to a decline in almond prices at futures market.
