Indias leading e-governance services network,AISECT that has been appointed as a ‘Registrar’ by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in Punjab for Gurdaspur,Hoshiarpur and Nawan Shahar has since 2011 rolled out 585 CSCs that also offer various skill-based educational and training services.
AISECTs Director,Siddharth Chaturvedi told that these include university-certified undergraduate,post graduate,certificate and diploma courses in more than 33 categories like IT & ITeS,management,hardware and networking,livelihood and vocational training,teacher training,insurance,banking and finance and agriculture. The centres are also delivering Kiosk Banking services through the State Bank of India. The organization has also partnered with establishments like LIC,SBI Life,ING Vysya,United India Insurance and Star Health to offer insurance services at these citizen service centres.
Siddharth Chaturvedi said that the UID enrolment is the latest project added to AISECTs long list of social initiatives undertaken. Through its network of centres in the state,AISECT is imparting high quality,employment oriented and skill based training to millions of students in semi urban and rural belt. Apart from functioning as education hubs,the AISECT Centres also deliver a number of services including data processing and data entry,exam form downloading and results viewing,ticket booking for railways and selling of recharge vouchers for telecom and DTH among others.
The AISECT CSCs acting as enrolment agencies for the ambitious UIDAI Project will be providing Unique IDs to the people and residents of the three zones will now get all their issues and concerns regarding Aadhar enrolment resolved without travelling distances. Besides,the UID Project will also bring with itself employment opportunities for the local educated populace.
Chaturvedi said,We are extremely glad to contribute to this massive Aadhaar drive by undertaking the UID enrolment in Punjab. AISECT will leave no stones unturned to complete the enrolment process within the envisaged time. Our motive is to maintain a smooth and swift process in issuing the cards to the people of the three zones entrusted to us. Moreover,we are also trying to empower the local people,including women,by providing them with digital literacy,get them certified and then deploy them at all our enrolment stations as per the guidelines prescribed by UIDAI.
