AIIMS faculty quota: MPs for amendment to nullify SC judgment

Leaders from the JDU,SP,BSP and DMK came down heavily against the government in the Lok Sabha Tuesday,demanding a Constitutional amendment to nullify the Supreme Court judgment against reservation in super-specialty streams in AIIMS across the country.

The Supreme Court judgment has come into force in AIIMS at Patna,Bhubaneswar and Raipur despite the fact that government had promised to rectify it. This is gross injustice to the backwards and SC/ST communities across the country, JDU leader Sharad Yadav said raising the matter in Lok Sabha.

He found support from Mulayam Singh Yadav SP,Dara Singh Chauhan BSP and T K S Elangova DMK who criticised the government for not honouring its promise to rectify the apex courts order through a legislation and demanded the government bring a legislation in the current session of Parliament itself.
