Senior BJP leader L K Advani Saturday termed PM Manmohan Singhs assertion that people have rejected the cash-for-votes charge by re-electing the UPA as absurd and preposterous. He said by that logic Rajiv Gandhi was guilty in the Bofors case.
In an entry in his blog,Advani sought to know since when has an election victory come to be regarded as exoneration of crimes committed by the victor before his election and wondered whether the PM realises the serious implications of this absurd thesis. After this new thesis put forth by Dr Manmohan Singh8230; does he realise that by the same logic the 1989 verdict would mean the Indian electorate had pronounced Rajiv Gandhi guilty in the Bofors scandal?
