Adlabs reorganises Big Cinemas

Adlabs Films has reorganised the cinema chain into two strategic business units.

Anil Ambani group firm Adlabs Films,which operates Big Cinemas,on Thursday said it has reorganised the operations of the cinema chain into two strategic business units based on geographical division.

The company has reorganised the Big Cinemas operations into geographies to adequately support its expansion in regional markets,Adlabs said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Big Cinemas would focus on the company8217;s operations in North,East and Central India.

To scale up Big Cinemas network,Adlabs has proposed to add 100 more screens by next year increasing presence across 85 cities and would cater for more than 35 million customers,the filing said.

Adlabs has a global footprint with 459 screens across India,US,Netherlands and Malaysia.

8220;Big Cinemas network is expanding across the country and we are putting in place a core team of leaders to drive the strategy and further augment the company8217;s ability to serve our customers better,8221; Adlabs Films CEO Anil Arjun said.

The company has appointed Ashish Saksena as Chief Operating Officer for Big Cinemas for West and South India.

Last week,Adlabs Films had said it would change its name to Reliance MediaWorks Ltd,subject to regulatory approvals. Shares of Adlabs were trading at Rs 354.70,up 1 per cent in late afternoon trade on the BSE.
