ACC,Ambuja sales improved in August

ACC reported around 20 per cent increase in sales at 18.8 lakh tonnes (LT) in August this year.

Two Holcim Group firms ACC and Ambuja Cements today posted growth up to 20 per cent in sales in August on increased construction and housing activities.

ACC reported around 20 per cent increase in sales at 18.8 lakh tonnes (LT) in August this year compared to 15.7 LT in the corresponding month last year.

Ambuja Cements sales rose to 15.08 LT in August this year,up nearly three per cent over 14.69 LT sales recorded in the same month last year.

Production of both the two firms,controlled by Swiss major Holcim,also increased during the month.

While,ACC’s production rose to 18.8 LT last month over 15.6 LT in the corresponding month; for Ambuja,it grew to 15.2 LT from 14.13 LT in the same month last year.

Consumption of cement generally remains subdued during the June-July period due to monsoon.
