A PHENOMENAL ALBUM

Amit Kilam,drummer with Indian Ocean ,thinks Dil Se is Rahmans best
AR Rahmans album Dil Se is a classic. It achieved the rare feat of excelling not just in musical composition but also in technical areas such as recording and sound engineering. The whole album is inspiring. Unlike most other albums,each track on Dil Se is enthralling and phenomenal. Its not like one track is engaging and the other is not. Besides,all songs have have been beautifully rendered by the singers on the albumfrom Udit Narayan to Sonu Nigam. Thats what makes Dil Se a complete package,a classic album.

I think its release was a redefining moment in terms of sound and design musical technicalities that Indian Ocean too works on. At the time it was out 1998,it had the best quality of production. It had set new sound and music standards in Indian film music then. And though I think all AR Rahman albums such as Roja and Bombay,for instance,are wonderful,Dil Se truly stands tall among them.
I am inspired by his music at some level just as everyone is influenced,consciously or otherwise,from the things they greatly admire.
