6 workers fall ill after gas leak

Less than a month after 19 employees were killed in a blast at Vizag Steel Plant,six contract workers fell ill after gas leaked from a pipeline in the Steel Melt Shop-I Monday. A statement said that the workers complained of giddiness and irritation while working near the gas pipeline and were referred to hospitals. However,the Steel Plant Employees Union said that there was a minor blast in the gas furnace and several workers fainted on the spot. On June 13,a massive explosion at oxygen plant of Steel Melt Shop-II killed 19 employees.
