We will deal with MNS violence effectively: Maha DGP

Maharashtra Director General of Police A N Roy on Tuesday said that police would deal 8216;effectively8217; with those resorting to violence in the wake of Raj Thackeray8217;s arrest.

8220;We were anticipating violent reaction after Raj8217;s arrest. We carried out large number of preventive arrests. We have arrested around 1,900 persons so far,8221; Roy told a newschannel on Tuesday.

8220;We will deal with them effectively. People can go about their jobs,8221; he said.

Roy also made it clear that Raj8217;s arrest was in connection with attack on Railway board examination centres, and had nothing to do with warrant issued by Jamshedpur court against him for alleged anti-Bihari statements.
