Hundreds of Jan Morcha supporters led by former prime minister V P Singh today marched to the UP Assembly to protest against the “unconstitutional” Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
Party supporters began their march from Parivartan Chowk. Police personnel had been deployed in large numbers to thwart attempts to breach law and order, officials said.
The activists tried to enter the House claiming Yadav had “lost his majority and was illegal”.
Jan Morcha leader Raj Babbar said the presence of large numbers of people in the rally reflected the growing mass base of the party. The Congress also led a march to the Assembly before boycotting proceedings of the House today.
